JOB TITLE: Senior Training Specialist LOCATION: CLIENT Site (Aiken, SC) WORK TYPE: 100% Onsite CONTRACT DURATION: 6 Months ESTIMATED HOURS: 1040 Straight Time WORK SCHEDULE: Monday–Thursday, 6:00 AM – 4:30 PM INTERVIEW PROCESS: MS Teams JOB SUMMARY Under limited supervision, the Senior Training Specialist performs instructional support functions including analysis, design, development, implementation, evaluation, and maintenance of training programs. The role ensures personnel are trained safely and competently using effective training methods and in compliance with DOE and CLIENT requirements. This is a training and instructional role only and does not involve operating cranes, rigging equipment, vehicles, or other hazardous machinery. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Perform training analysis, design, development, implementation, evaluation, and maintenance Deliver instructor-led training in classroom and other approved settings Evaluate trainee performance and provide remediation as required Review and evaluate training materials for accuracy, completeness, and compliance prior to approval Maintain training records including rosters, examinations, and documentation Conduct needs analysis, job analysis, and task analysis Develop and maintain task-to-training matrices Design training objectives based on skills, knowledge, and abilities Develop exams and evaluation instruments aligned with training objectives Revise training materials based on feedback, audits, and changes to procedures, equipment, or policies Evaluate training programs for compliance with DOE Orders, Manual 4B, and industry standards Conduct training program assessments and Management Field Observations Provide guidance to instructors on training processes and instructional effectiveness Develop Training Program Descriptions as assigned Respond to audit and surveillance findings and track corrective actions to closure Remain current in assigned fields of expertise Perform training administration tasks including LMS usage and training system navigation May act as Subcontract Technical Representative coordinating subcontracted training activities Follow all safety requirements and stop work if conditions are unsafe REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE HS Diploma plus 12 years relevant experience in education or in the field being instructed OR 10 years CLIENT facility operations experience OR Associate Degree plus 8 years relevant experience in education or in the field being instructed OR Bachelor’s Degree plus 4 years relevant experience in education or in the field being instructed *Field being instructed : rigging and crane REQUIRED SKILLS Experience in training analysis, design, development, delivery, and evaluation Experience with Systematic Approach to Training (SAT) Ability to evaluate instructional staff and training materials for compliance and effectiveness Strong documentation, communication, and organizational skills Ability to work onsite full time at the CLIENT site PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE Depth and breadth of knowledge as an Instructor/Developer Substantial experience applying SAT methodology Familiarity with rigging and crane training concepts and lesson content Minimum 10 years experience as a qualified or certified Rigger or Mobile Crane Operator Ability to teach and evaluate rigging and crane training programs Currently qualified or able to qualify as an instructor per CLIENT Manual 4B Working knowledge of TM90-7 The Site Hoisting and Rigging Manual Experience with Learning Management Systems Experience in DOE, nuclear, or highly regulated environments SECURITY CLEARANCE Clearance is NOT required for this 6-month contract role. Position is uncleared. TRAVEL Travel, if required, will be reimbursed per CLIENT Travel Compensation Schedule. All travel must be pre-approved by the hiring manager and procurement. Rates are fully burdened and must include all costs outside of approved business travel. TELEWORK Telework is at the discretion of the hiring manager and may be revoked at any time. The primary duty station remains the CLIENT site. Travel to and from the CLIENT site is not reimbursable.
