Position Title: Physician Family Employment Type: Full-Time, Direct Hire Location: Huntsville, AL 35801, United States Salary Range: $173,200 $276,800 per year About the Role: We are seeking a dedicated Family Physician to join a collaborative healthcare team, including physicians, nurse practitioners, and ancillary staff. This role provides acute and chronic primary healthcare services, including comprehensive care for patients living with HIV. Key Responsibilities: Deliver high-quality comprehensive medical care to adolescents, adults, and occasionally pediatric patients as applicable. Care includes general primary care, LGBTQI+ primary care, and management of Hepatitis C, HIV, HIV prevention, and STI testing and treatment. Perform and document HPI, physical exams, diagnostic testing, consultations, outside referrals, and other evaluations for diagnosis and treatment based on Evidence-Based Medicine. Review diagnostic testing results (labs, imaging, procedures) and consultation notes promptly; ensure appropriate follow-up and treatment. Document all findings in EMR and lock charts within 72 hours of completion. Collaborate with providers and clinical staff to maintain evidence-based practices and foster a supportive team environment. Provide telemedicine services as needed within state and federal regulations. Travel to satellite clinics as required. Perform minor office-based procedures and EKG review as applicable. Collaborate with specialists to manage complex cases and refer patients outside of scope when necessary. Serve as collaborating physician for mid-level practitioners per Alabama Board of Medical Examiners standards; complete Collaborative Practice Agreement requirements. Participate in on-call rotation for after-hours coverage and daytime point of contact. Screen and refer patients to community service providers as appropriate. Lead patient care team meetings, including daily huddles. Serve as Physician designee for patient medication, vaccine programs, and other patient care programs. Ensure we meet objectives regarding quality, patient engagement, documentation, coding, and billing. Promote clinic services to patients and the local community. Contribute to practice efficiency, quality improvement, and process standardization initiatives. Participate in Quality Improvement Committee and Peer Review activities. Educate staff, patients, and the community on prevention, treatment, and interventions for various health conditions. Maintain compliance with agency standards, policies, and grant requirements. Precept students and residents as needed. Maintain continuing education as required by Alabama Board of Medical Examiners and respective Family/Internal Medicine Board certifications. Maintain active BLS certification. Perform additional responsibilities assigned by the Chief Medical Officer or Chief Operating Officer. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Knowledge of primary care management and evidence-based practices. Knowledge or willingness to acquire expertise in HIV, Hepatitis C, and STI management. Commitment to continual learning and adoption of established standards of care. Knowledge of HIPAA laws and patient privacy practices. Current board certification by ABFM, AOBFM, ABIM, or AOBIM. Eligible for DEA registration and Alabama Controlled Substances Certificate. Eligible to serve as a Physician Collaborator in Collaborative Practice Agreements.
