TC Sanchez Laboratory Technician Pay Rate: $20.00 The primary responsibilities of a Sanchez laboratory technician are to carry out the tasks assigned to him /her by the Pilot Plant Technician (s) , RAI Technician (s) or the designated supervisor (s) , safely and efficiently. These tasks are varied, and you will be trained for each specific task you will be asked to perform. The following list includes most of the tasks that are to be performed by the TC Sanchez Laboratory Technician. Most of these tasks will have a written procedure and will be preceded by training prior to starting any task. Essential Job Functions may include the following or other duties as assigned: Data entry Attend morning meeting/ tailgates. Sample Receipt and inventory Weigh and record Lab ID and sample labeling , LIMS Sample Preparation of Blasthole, leaching and concentrate material. Blending process/ technique s Splitting process/techniques Agglomeration process/techniques Large and Small Rotary Spitter Screening practices Wet Screen - Sweco Wet Screen - 8" Dry Screen - Gilson Dry Screen - Sweco Dry Screen - Ro-Tap Assist Sr. Technician(s) and Metallurgical Technician Filter samples Decant solutions (Buchner Funnel System). Sampling and filtering Fermentation Columns Titration sample prep HPLC sample p rep AA sample prep Maintain laboratory instrumentation and equipment . Assist with/perform routine chemical and/or metallurgical analysis. Handle various chemical reagents safely. Dispose of all residues in a safe and prescribed manner. M onitor multiple assay s at once. Collect and report results accurately. Assist others as requested or assigned. Perform related duties as required. Maintain PPE Routine maintenance tubing, pumps, columns etc. Requirements / Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Prior analytical laboratory, chemistry, or mining experience preferred but not required. Must be able to utilize b asic math skills to calculate dilution factors and solution concentrations quickly and accurately . Must have e ffective communication skills, as well as interpersonal, problem solving and basic math skills to perform routine calculations and recognize, correct, and inform others when quality control is out of range. Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining the highest level of quality assurance and compliance. Report to scheduled work shift and be fit for Duty. Must be able to follow directions completely, accurately, and consistently . Must have s trong organizational and documentation skills . Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel to develop and maintain spreadsheets reports, Data entry and other documentation . Must be able to interact successfully with all levels of staff, clients, and vendors . Must be able to develop and maintain awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautions . Must have reliable transportation to and from the jobsite. Required Availability: Primarily Monday through Friday; however, some evenings, weekends, holidays, and overtime may be required. Able to successfully complete Reference Check, Background Check, Drug Screen and Respirator Clearance Physical. Atmospheric conditions: One or more of the following conditions that affect the respiratory system of the skin: Fumes, odors, dusts, mists, gases or poor ventilation. Oils: There is air and/or skin exposure to oils and other cutting fluids. Hazards: Includes a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, working on scaffolding and high places, exposure to high heat or exposure to chemicals. The worker is required to wear a respirator.
