Prepares and distributes statistical reports; receives and processes a variety of applications. Assists customers with completion of forms/documents; refers public to appropriate agencies if necessary; interprets procedures, zoning ordinances and building codes; issues building permits and certificates of occupancy for residential and commercial building; issues receipts and balances cash received; maintains log of issued permits and inspections; reviews, analyzes and researches site plan reviews, short plat conditions; performs research regarding permit applications to assure compliance with established ordinances; ensures necessary technical support materials are completed; provides backup for review of legal descriptions. Assist Permit Manager with continuous improvement to permit processing procedures, tracking Demolition Work Program deadlines, tracking Certificate of Occupancy permit deadlines; assists Planning and Zoning with letter/forms/books and accepting and logging applications for Planning Commission, Board of Adjustment, and Historic Landmark Commission. Must be able to effectively multi-task while maintaining attention to detail and demonstrate the ability to provide exceptional customer service in all interactions.Other Job Functions: Performs other duties as required.
