Description Position: Transportation Dispatcher Job Summary The Transportation Dispatcher is responsible for coordinating daily transportation operations to ensure safe, efficient, and timely service. This role serves as the central point of communication between drivers, supervisors, and customers, managing schedules, dispatching vehicles, monitoring routes, and resolving issues in real time. The ideal candidate is organized, calm under pressure, and adept at multitasking in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a strong focus on safety, accuracy, and customer service. Full-Time, Temp to Hire Pay rate: $23.00/hour Location: Oxnard Key Responsibilities Dispatch drivers and vehicles according to schedules, routes, and service needs Monitor driver progress, vehicle locations, and service status Communicate route changes, delays, or emergencies to drivers and supervisors Maintain accurate records of dispatch activities, driver logs, and trip data Coordinate responses to breakdowns, accidents, or service disruptions Ensure compliance with DOT regulations, company policies, and safety procedures Answer incoming calls from drivers, customers, and internal team members Support daily operational planning and adjustments as needed Assist with reporting, data entry, and administrative tasks Perform other duties as assigned by management Required Qualifications Previous dispatch, transportation, or logistics experience preferred Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to multitask and make sound decisions under pressure Proficiency with computers and dispatch systems (GPS, routing software, email, spreadsheets) Ability to read, write, and speak English clearly Reliable attendance and punctuality Strong organizational and problem-solving skills Preferred Qualifications Knowledge of DOT regulations and transportation compliance Experience working with commercial drivers or passenger transportation Familiarity with local routes and traffic patterns Work Environment & Skills Fast-paced, deadline-driven environment Frequent phone, radio, and computer use Team-oriented role with high interaction across departments Ability to remain composed during high-volume or emergency situations Why Join Us?
