An inpatient behavioral health facility is seeking an experienced pharmacy professional to serve as Director of Pharmacy on a contract basis. This role requires strong leadership capabilities to manage pharmacy operations, ensure medication safety, and maintain regulatory compliance in a dynamic clinical setting. Key Responsibilities: Oversee daily pharmacy operations including staffing and medication order verification Dispense medications, including controlled substances, with accuracy and compliance Manage automated dispensing systems such as PYXIS and medication order entry using HCS (training available) Ensure adherence to Joint Commission, CMS, and state board of pharmacy regulations Provide on-call support and weekend on-call coverage as needed Collaborate with facility leadership to maintain high standards of patient care and safety Facilitate onboarding and training working closely with outgoing Director and assistant directors Desired Qualifications: Licensed pharmacist in Indiana in good standing Previous inpatient pharmacy experience with leadership responsibilities Experience working in behavioral health or similar environments is highly valued Ability to manage operations independently as Director of Pharmacy (no technician support onsite) Strong communication and organizational skills Local candidates preferred; travel expense reimbursement can be considered Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM with additional on-call duties Potential weekend on-call only coverage Additional Information: The facility is business casual or scrubs attire Nearest major airport: Indianapolis International Airport Contract duration from March 30 through June 30, 2026, or until permanent placement is made Training provided onsite and remotely to ensure a smooth transition If you possess the leadership skills and clinical expertise to manage pharmacy operations in a behavioral health setting, this contract role offers a unique opportunity to make an impact.
