School Counselor/School Psychologist for DPT 21st CCLC Summer Program, Gr. 3-6* JobID: 821 Position Type: Student Support Services/Guidance Counselor Date Posted: 3/26/2026 Location: Donald P Timony Grammar School Closing Date: Until filled   Additional Information: Show/Hide PLEASE POST PLEASE POST PLEASE POST METHUEN PUBLIC SCHOOLS VACANCY NOTICE THE AVAILABILITY OF THIS POSITION IS CONTINGENT UPON SUFFICIENT FUNDING AND ENROLLMENT TITLE: School Counselor/School Psychologist for DPT 21st CCLC Summer Program, Gr. 3-6* Program Hours: As determined by the Program Manager of Community Programs; appx. 6.0 - 6.5 hrs./prog. day, Mondays thru Thursdays (extra time for workshops and other duties may be required). Additional hours required for planning and as required by the Program Manager, including days before & after program calendar. Prog. from 7/6/26 until 7/30/26. Hrs.: 7:45/8:00-2:00/2:15+. DATE OF OPENING: June 8, 2026 QUALIFICATIONS: * Certified, team-oriented high school and grammar school counselor/school psychologist in Methuen Public Schools preferred. * Knowledge of 21st CCLC Program a plus; excellent attendance record. * Familiar w/ MA Curriculum Frameworks including Common Core (gr.3-6) & 21st CCLC SAYO rqmnts. * Successful experience working with second language, LEP, SPED, at-risk or struggling students. * Excellent organizational skills and dedication to improving academic standards of all students. * Ability to work with college & career readiness focus. * Bilingual experience preferred, and have the ability to drive program/MPS van, e.g., for deliveries to students * First Aid certification and ability to speak Spanish are a plus. * Experience in implementing lessons & utilizing the district's access to curriculum-TRAILS to Wellness. * Outstanding preparation and/or experience may be substituted for some of the above qualifications GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES: * Work w/ site coordinator and check-in/monitor student progress with emphasis on Newcomers/ELs. * Provide input to project-based proposals & curriculum templates for enrichment/remote activities. * Assist w/ meals program and parent pick-up/bus. * Attend staff meetings, field trips, workshops, & family events as planned by site coord. and/or program manager. * Assist w/ DESE surveys (SAYOs) and other required documents in a timely manner. * Maintain and submit accurate records and follow-up w/ students regarding consistent attendance, and work w/ students in college and career planning. * Communicate with coordinators, teachers, and parents, about program and student progress; and have the ability to implement lessons & utilize the district's access to curriculum - TRAILS to Wellness. * Other responsibilities as may be assigned by site coordinator, and the program manager. * Excellent attendance required. * Positions may be split at the discretion of the Program Manager of Community Programs.
