Job Type Part-timeDescriptionPosition Summary:The Radiology Technician is responsible for performing diagnostic radiographic procedures in accordance with physician orders, clinic protocols, and regulatory standards. This role supports high-quality patient care by ensuring accurate imaging, patient safety, and proper documentation. This position is part-time, non-exempt, and scheduled to work Wednesdays and Fridays.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Verify patient identity, exam orders, and clinical indications prior to imaging2. Explain procedures to patients and ensure comfort, dignity, and safety3. Position patients correctly and operate radiographic equipment4. Apply radiation safety principles, including shielding and exposure minimization5. Review images for quality and completeness prior to provider review6. Document procedures accurately in the electronic medical record7. Maintain examination rooms, equipment, and supplies8. Follow infection control, HIPAA, and safety policies9. Report equipment malfunctions or safety concerns10. Collaborate with providers, nurses, and clinic staff11. Perform other duties as assignedRequirementsQUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION, AND EXPERIENCE:1. High school diploma or equivalent2. Completion of an accredited radiologic technology program3. Current ARRT certification or eligibility4. Current Texas state licensure or registration, as required5. Knowledge of radiographic procedures and safety standards6. Ability to work independently and as part of a team7. Able to communicate in English and Spanish is required8. Employees must comply with all clinic policies, regulatory requirements, and safety standards, including HIPAA, infection control protocols, and radiation safety guidelines. This position is subject to background checks and licensure verification.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:1. Prior experience in a clinic or outpatient setting2. Experience serving underserved populations3. Able to deal professionally, courteously and efficiently with public and all levels of the organization4. Able to operate computers and copier fax5. Proficient in Microsoft Office, practice management system software and electronic health record applications6. Demonstrates effective verbal and written communication skills7. Demonstrates effective customer relation skills, working with diverse populations, often in stressful fast paced environmentsPHYSICAL REQUIREMENT:1. Ability to stand and walk for extended periods2. Ability to lift and position patients and equipment3. Manual dexterity to operate imaging equipment4. Visual and Clinical healthcare environment with exposure to radiographic equipment. Appropriate safety measures and protocols are required at all times.5. Auditory ability to perform duties safely6. Ability to sit, stand, bend and stoop for (long) periods of time7. Ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally/frequently 8. Ability to work in a stressful environment9. Ability to respond to emergency/crisis situations10. Exposure to noise11.
