A pharmacy role is available for a Staff Pharmacist on the 2nd shift (12:30pm - 9pm) in a closed-door mail order environment. This position will be based in Indianapolis, IN, with a work schedule from Monday to Friday and possible Saturdays, depending on operational needs. The assignment is temp-to-hire, lasting approximately 13 weeks. Key responsibilities include accurately dispensing medications according to prescriptions, providing patient counseling regarding medication use and side effects, reviewing physician orders for accuracy and appropriateness, and monitoring drug therapies for contraindications or duplications. The pharmacist will collaborate with healthcare providers to enhance patient outcomes and maintain detailed patient records that include medication histories and allergy information. Compliance with all federal, state, and local pharmacy laws is essential, alongside proper storage and handling of medications. The role also involves participation in quality assurance and continuous improvement programs, inventory management, and delivering excellent customer service. Ongoing professional development to stay current in pharmacy practice is expected.
