Job Title: CPUP Quality and Safety Student Intern Department: Quality and Patient Safety Location: 3535 Market Street Hours: Part Time Hybrid, onsite Tuesday, 32 hours a week, 8 hours a day for 4 days. Summary: + The Student Intern will play an integral role in supporting the CPUP Quality and Safety department by collaborating with team members on a variety of projects and operational tasks. This position offers hands-on exposure to quality improvement (QI) tools and methodologies, allowing the intern to actively participate in initiatives that enhance patient safety, regulatory compliance, and the overall effectiveness of ambulatory care processes. The intern will assist with data collection, analysis, and reporting, and will contribute to the implementation of best practices that align with organizational goals for high reliability and continuous addition to project-based work, the intern will gain valuable experience in a hybrid work environment, engaging with multidisciplinary teams and learning from experienced quality and safety professionals. The role is designed to foster professional growth by providing mentorship, opportunities to present findings, and involvement in department meetings and educational sessions. Through these experiences, the intern will develop a foundational understanding of healthcare quality and safety, preparing them for future roles in clinical, operational, or administrative settings. Responsibilities: Support Data and Analytics Initiatives + Assist with data collection, analysis, and reporting for quality and safety metrics, including the Q&S scorecard, PMSN analysis, and infection prevention support. Populate and Maintain Project Inventories + Enter completed QAPI, Yellow Belt, and RRI projects into the department's project inventory, guiding practice managers as needed. Manage Quality and Safety Communications + Edit and update weekly huddle content, optimize meeting slides (e.g., PSSC), and assist with notes for monthly IS and QI meetings. Support Calendar and Event Management + Help coordinate department calendars and assist with planning and executing Patient Safety Month activities and other key events. Maintain Data Platform Integrity + Ensure accuracy and consistency of data across all Quality and Patient Safety platforms, promptly reporting discrepancies and following data governance protocols. Contribute to Process Improvement Projects + Participate in the development and optimization of process maps, fishbone diagrams, and driver diagrams for safety and quality initiatives. Facilitate Knowledge Sharing and Learning + Observe and support the Yellow Belt Program logistics, document management, and graphic design creations when and where needed. Assist with Departmental Operations + Oversee and reconcile contact lists, manage location changes, and support the maintenance of SharePoint sites and other operational resources. + These accountabilities reflect both the operational and developmental aspects of the intern role, ensuring meaningful contributions to CPUP Quality and Safety while fostering professional growth. Credentials: Education or Equivalent Experience: + H.S.
