How you'll contribute A Dosimetrist who excels in this role: * Provides medical dosimetry services for patient treatment planning in accordance with the Radiation Oncologist's prescription. * Devises a treatment plan by means of computer and/or manual computation that will deliver the prescribed dose to a defined tumor volume in collaboration with the medical physicist. * Performs dose calculations and assures complete, accurate, and timely recording of all data on all charts and forms. * Instructs the technical staff in the implementation of the treatment plan. Assists in planning of compensating filters, custom shields, wedges, blocks, and other beam modifying devices in collaboration with the Medical Physicist. * Assists in the selection and evaluation of purchase requests involving radioactive materials or radiation producing equipment. What we're looking for Applicants should be a graduate of an accredited program in Radiologic Technology. *Years of relevant experience may be substituted for required education. Additional requirements include: * Certified Medical Dosimetrist (CMD) (within 6 months) * ARRT (T) Radiation Therapy Registry (Preferred) * 3 years as Medical Dosimetrist (Preferred) * Previous experience with Varian Eclipse Treatment Planning System and Aria Oncology Information Systems (Preferred) * Knowledge of complex treatment planning techniques such as 3D, IMRT, V-Mat, SRS, SBRT etc.(Preferred) More about Sovah Health - Martinsville Sovah Health - Martinsville is a 220- bed acute care hospital that has been offering exceptional care to the Martinsville community for over 50 years.
