Applicants requiring new H-1B visa sponsorship will not be considered.Job DescriptionThis Nursing faculty positon is for the online RN-to-BSN track. Tenure-track faculty positions provide probationary appointments. Tenure-track faculty hold renewable, full-time appointments for one-year terms, subject to annual reappointment as described in the Teaching and Research (T&R) Faculty Handbook.The principal functions of the faculty shall be to• Engage students in an online environment and adapt teaching style for the adult learner with prior clinical experience;• Teach nursing concepts such as leadership and management, evidence-based practice, health policy, clinical practicum, and research;• Develop, implement, and evaluate the mission, vision, core values, and objectives(program outcomes) of Radford University and the College of Nursing;• Design, implement, teach, evaluate, and revise the undergraduate curriculum. Facultyshall provide evidence of education and experience necessary to indicate that they arecompetent to teach a given course;• Develop and evaluate undergraduate student admission, progression, retention, andgraduation policies within the framework of the controlling institution;• Participate in academic advisement and counseling of students in accordance withrequirements of the Financial Educational Rights and Privacy Act (20 USC § 1232g);• Provide opportunities for and evidence of student evaluation of curriculum, teaching,and program effectiveness; and,• Document actions taken in department and committee meetings using a systematicplan of evaluation for total program reviewRequired QualificationsApplicants must have either a doctoral degree in Nursing or a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) and a PhD or EdD in a related field, an unencumbered Virginia RN license, and at least five years of adult clinical experience. Unencumbered Virginia RN License or eligibility is required. Current CPR certification.Ability to participate in on-campus required activities.Preferred Qualifications:• Prior teaching experience in the classroom and/or clinical practice setting, and experience teaching in online environment• Meaningful experience in health systems leadership• Evidence of active scholarly work in the past two yearsSpecial Instructions to ApplicantsApplicants must provide a letter of application, current vita, unofficial transcripts, and contact information including phone and email addresses for three professional references in the online application.
