Responsibilities Meridell Achievement Center is a nationally recognized 134-bed private psychiatric residential treatment facility located northwest of Austin. Our mission is to provide safe, effective, and compassionate mental health and substance use treatment.Website: Meridell Achievement Center is seeking a versatile Director of Nursing (DON) to lead our team of registered nurses and licensed vocational nurses dedicated to the helping and healing of our child and adolescent patient population. The Director of Nursing reports to the Chief Executive Officer and is responsible for the development, organization, provision, and evaluation of all nursing functions within the facility with 24/7 responsibility for those functions.Job Duties/Responsibilities : Utilize sound patient care standards and recognized nursing standards of practice in the development and implementation of policies, procedures, and models of nursing care. Bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN) with psychiatric emphasis required. Experience: Minimum of five (5) years of psychiatric nursing experience with progressive supervisory experience Knowledge and Skills: Must be able to define his/her nursing care philosophy and standards of care. Must have knowledge of accepted standards of psychiatric nursing care for children and adolescent patients and ability to provide this knowledge in assessment and planning of care. Must have basic understanding of licensing, regulatory and accreditation requirements. Must have knowledge/expertise in staffing and FTE management and experience in development/management of a departmental budget. Must have basic computer skills including word processing, management of spreadsheets, and communication systems.
