Ability to respond to ED calls and provide care within specified time frames. Capability to manage the care of total hip fractures and simple fractures.Description: We are seeking an orthopaedic surgeon to provide coverage for emergency department call. The shifts include blocks from 11/24 to 11/26 and from 12/23 to 12/28. The call requirement averages 9 shifts per month. On average, there are 10 orthopaedic patients for inpatient care. Callback may vary from zero to 2-4 hours. The surgeon must respond to all calls within 15 minutes. In-person presence in the building is required within 30 minutes when needed. The surgeon will work alongside two local integrated orthopaedic surgeons and one non-integrated physician. Prior experience with total hip and knee procedures is essential. The facility operates at trauma level 3, and the orthopaedic department supports a variety of procedures. Additional preferred skills include joint revision or repair, and experience with shoulder procedures.
