Join the team shaping the future of the amenity experience.Job SummaryThe Lifestyle & Wellness Director is responsible for the overall operation, leadership, and profitability of the spa, fitness, and wellness facility. This role integrates hospitality, wellness, and fitness programming to deliver a holistic lifestyle experience for residents and guests.The Director oversees day-to-day operations, team leadership, guest satisfaction, service standards, budgeting, marketing, and business development across spa and fitness offerings. This includes group fitness, personal training, wellness programming, and recreational services.This leader ensures a high-quality, innovative, and engaging experience while building a motivated, professional, and service-driven team.Key ResponsibilitiesLeadership & OperationsManage all aspects of spa, fitness, and wellness operations including scheduling, programming, service delivery, and facility standards. Lead, hire, train, and develop a multidisciplinary team including therapists, personal trainers, group fitness instructors, and front desk staff. Oversee fitness operations, including personal training programs, group exercise classes, and wellness workshops. Ensure all services meet or exceed industry standards and client expectations. Maintain inventory of products, fitness equipment, and supplies; manage vendor relationships. Ensure compliance with all health, safety, hygiene, and fitness industry regulations. Ensure all required permits and licenses are current, including therapist and trainer certifications. Fitness & Wellness ProgrammingDesign and implement a comprehensive fitness and wellness program that aligns with resident/guest demographics and property goals. Develop and manage group fitness schedules, specialty classes, and personal training offerings. Oversee fitness assessments, onboarding programs, and member engagement strategies. Stay current with fitness trends, wellness innovations, and industry best practices. Ensure proper maintenance, safety, and utilization of fitness equipment. Promote a culture of health, wellness, and active living throughout the property. Financial ManagementDevelop and manage the annual budget, including revenue targets, labor, and operational expenses. Monitor financial performance and adjust strategies to meet or exceed goals. Drive revenue through spa services, fitness programming, personal training, and retail. Analyze performance data to implement pricing strategies, promotions, and upselling initiatives. Guest Experience & Service StandardsDeliver a seamless and elevated guest experience across spa and fitness services. Foster a welcoming, inclusive, and motivating environment for all fitness levels. Handle guest feedback and resolve concerns promptly and professionally. Monitor satisfaction metrics and implement continuous improvement initiatives. Strategic Planning & MarketingDevelop and execute marketing campaigns, seasonal promotions, and wellness events. Partner with property and marketing teams to increase engagement and visibility. Identify trends and opportunities in spa, fitness, and lifestyle programming. Plan and execute community wellness events, challenges, and activations. QualificationsEducation & ExperienceBachelor's degree in Hospitality, Business, Exercise Science, or related field preferred. Minimum of 3 years of management experience in fitness, wellness, spa, or hospitality operations. Proven success leading teams and achieving financial and operational goals. Certifications (Required)Nationally recognized fitness certification such as: NASM (National Academy of Sports Medicine) ACSM (American College of Sports Medicine) ACE, NSCA, or equivalent Additional specialty certifications preferred (e.g., FST, corrective exercise, group fitness, wellness coaching). Skills & CompetenciesStrong leadership, coaching, and team development skills. Expertise in fitness programming, personal training, and wellness services. Exceptional customer service and interpersonal communication skills. Financial acumen with experience managing budgets and P&L. Knowledge of spa and fitness management systems (e.g., Jonas, Mindbody). Ability to multitask in a dynamic, hospitality-driven environment. Physical RequirementsAbility to stand and move for extended periods. Ability to demonstrate or support fitness activities as needed. Ability to lift up to 25 pounds. Comfortable working in both spa and fitness environments. Work EnvironmentWork is performed in a spa, fitness center, or wellness facility. Exposure to fitness equipment, spa products, and varying environmental conditions. Requires flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
