A well-established 200+ bed community hospital in the Alexandria, LA area is seeking an experienced pharmacist for a 13-week contract position. Schedule & Location: 4 shifts per week, 10 hours each Rotating schedule with shifts possibly from 6:00 AM to 4:30 PM, 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM, or 12:30 PM to 11:00 PM Every other weekend on call Based in Alexandria, LA Key Responsibilities: Perform order verification in compliance with hospital policies and standards Provide supervision and guidance to pharmacy technicians Consult with physicians and nursing staff to optimize patient medication management Apply pharmacokinetic principles to patient care when appropriate Utilize clinical IT systems such as EPIC and Pyxis for efficient workflow Qualifications and Desired Experience: Licensed Pharmacist with active and unrestricted licensure Demonstrated experience in a clinical pharmacy setting Proficiency with EPIC and Pyxis systems preferred Strong knowledge of pharmacokinetics and clinical medication practices Current BLS certification (American Heart Association) Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary healthcare teams This contract position is ideal for candidates ready to make an immediate impact within a supportive hospital environment.
