A Per Diem clinical pharmacist opportunity is available to provide essential coverage for a 2-week period in a charming mountain community hospital. This role supports the sole Pharmacist/PIC during their vacation, offering a unique chance to lead pharmacy operations in a close-knit hospital setting approximately 75 miles from Los Angeles. Location: A scenic hospital near Big Bear Lake, CA 18-bed Med-Surg Unit and 10-bed Emergency Department Schedule & Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM Weekend and after-hours on-call coverage required (calls are infrequent) Responsibilities: Verify and review medication orders ensuring accuracy and patient safety Compound sterile medications such as IV admixtures and unit dose medication (no chemotherapy or hazardous drugs) Respond to emergency codes as needed within the hospital's departments Maintain compliance with hospital policies, state, and federal regulations including sterile compounding standards Monitor and optimize patients' medication therapies through clinical recommendations Possibly fill Pyxis machines at two local family health centers Qualifications & Experience: Active and clear California Pharmacist License required Minimum 2 years of inpatient pharmacy experience Familiarity with CPSI/Evident and Pyxis software systems preferred (training available if needed) Experience managing pharmacy operations as the sole pharmacist highly desirable Willingness to cover on-call hours is essential Additional Information: A pharmacy technician is available on site part-time and can assist full-time during the contract Travel arrangements include housing and mileage reimbursement as a pass-through billed directly to the client This contract position requires a signed agreement and offers a rewarding opportunity to work autonomously in a supportive hospital environment.
