Montessori Centre is seeking a Lead Teacher for our primary classroom. Teachers are responsible for providing lessons and tracking progress and attendance through Transparent Classroom, communicating with parents regarding children's progress, and sending weekly newsletters to families. Lead teachers keep tidy classrooms and update shelves with authentic, engaging materials monthly and as needed for meeting children's needs. Meetings with new, prospective families are scheduled in the Spring during operating hours. Attending two PTA meetings and being present for the Back-to-School carnival, Halloween carnival, Curriculum Night, and Open House are required. Additionally, thirty hours of professional development are mandatory, per the State Dept. of Education, some of which is conducted in-house. Teachers are expected to collaborate and communicate well with all staff members. Qualifications: All candidates must have Montessori certification in Early Childhood and hold a bachelor's degree. A Tennessee teaching license is preferred but not required. Some classroom experience is preferred. Salary Range: 45-50,000 Description of Community: We have a close-knit community of families and teachers, serving children ages 13 months through kindergarten. Families are encouraged to participate in community events, such as carnivals and PTA meetings, and are offered opportunities to volunteer in their child's classroom through reading aloud, helping with scheduled crafts, and providing snacks for the staff. Our parents value education and have opportunities for learning more about the Montessori method to help streamline home and school.
