We are seeking a Crisis Center Recovery Coach or Crisis Center Peer Support Specialist Crisis Center Recovery Coach As part of a multidisciplinary team-based service, this role will provide interventions for clients experiencing a behavioral health crisis and assist clients in understanding and accessing substance use disorder services. The Recovery Coach will model competency in recovery and demonstrate on-going coping skills. This will occur in the context of the Crisis Center, which includes a Brief Intervention Clinic and Crisis Stabilization Unit.Crisis Center Peer Support Specialist As part of a multidisciplinary team-based service, this role will assist individuals in understanding and using mental health and substance use disorders services. The Peer Support Specialist will model competency in recovery and demonstrate on-going coping skills. The assigned site will be the Crisis Center, which includes a Brief Intervention Clinic and Crisis Stabilization Unit. This position is 30 hours a week working Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 10:00pm to 8:00am. This assignment is in person at 260 Jefferson Ave SE Grand Rapids, Michigan 49503.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR CRISIS CENTER RECOVERY COACH High School diploma or general education degree (GED).Must be at least eighteen (18) years old.At least two years of relevant work experience; may include volunteer work.Actively working in a recovery program (12-step, church/spiritual, or other recovery support group).State of Michigan Certified Peer Recovery Coach or be eligible and obtain certification by the State as a Peer Recovery Coach within ninety (90) days of hire, which requires an individual to have:Long-term, stable recovery from alcohol and other drugs;Able to identify with other individuals based on their shared life experiences to promote recovery by removing barriers and obstacles to recovery;Has been a recipient of mental health and/or substance use services for at least one year, with a substantial life disruption due to their substance use condition;Have personal experience with navigating complex substance use treatment serveKnowledge and skills sufficient for establishing effective relationships with clients who have a substance use disorder, their families, and team members.Knowledge about substance use disorders as it pertains to recovery and crisis planning.Basic computer skills.Good communication skills, both verbal and written.Good problem-solving skills.Ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment and skills and capabilities of bridging language/cultural barriers to Network180 services within diverse communities.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR CRISIS CENTER PEER SUPPORT SPECIALIST • High School diploma or general education degree (GED).• Must be at least 18 years of age.• State of Michigan Certified Peer Support Specialist or be eligible to become certified by the State as a Peer Support Specialist within 90 days of hire, which requires an individual to have:o Primary diagnosis of a mental health condition, oro Have a strong personal knowledge of what it is like to have first-hand lived experience with a mental health condition that has caused a substantial life disruption, oro Has been a recipient of mental health treatment and/or services for at least one year, with a substantial life disruption due to their mental health condition, oro Have personal experience in navigating complex mental health treatment services.• Knowledge about mental illnesses and/or substance use disorders as well as recovery and crisis intervention.• Computer skills, including word processing, spreadsheets, email, electronic health record, and data entry skills.• Solid communication skills, both verbal and written.• Demonstrated problem-solving skills.• Ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment and skills and capabilities of bridging language/cultural barriers to Network180 services within diverse communities.Job interviews are being conducted in person or via the internet.
