Depending upon the needs of the campus, this counselor may extend our mission by being embedded in an academic unit in one of our 13 Schools and Colleges 2-3 days per week. The successful candidate will have demonstrated expertise in serving college student populations, operating in multidisciplinary systems, and working independently. As a Counselor/Psychologist, your responsibilities include: * Performing individual, group and couples counseling * Providing consultations with faculty and staff on student issues * Facilitating presentations on mental health topics for a diverse student population * Providing on-call and crisis intervention * May supervise graduate students in psychology, social work, and mental health counseling. Minimum Qualifications * Candidate must currently have or will attain a New York State psychology license or a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) status , or Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) status within 18 months of the date of hire. * Two years of clinical experience working with young adults (18-25 years) or adults (25+ years). Preferred Qualifications * Two years of experience working in a university counseling center. * Significant experience working with individuals with persistent mental illness.
