Job Title: Lab Technician Job Description As a Lab Technician, you will perform sensory, physical, and chemical tests on finished products to ensure they meet established specifications. You will evaluate the Bill of Material (BOM) for completeness and proper documentation, record test data, and maintain the laboratory work list in the LIMS system for the timely release of finished products. You will also report nonconformance with immediate corrective actions in the LIMS system. Responsibilities * Conduct required inspections for manufacturing equipment, storage equipment, and sanitation cleaning. * Participate in check sample programs with external institutions and internal proficiency programs to verify accuracy. * Follow proper Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and Good Laboratory Practices (GLPs). * Use appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as needed. * Assist with raw material testing, Certificate of Analysis (COA) review, and COA filing. * Inspect finished product packaging to ensure label and configurations are correct. * Approve and apply final wrap with automated equipment. * Perform wet chemistry product testing, equipment inspections, and audits. * Spend 70% of the day performing laboratory testing and 30% on the floor for inspections and audits. * Rotate stations weekly, spending two weeks in the lab and one week on the floor. Qualifications * Bachelor's Degree in a Scientific Discipline * 6 Months+ of Industry Lab/Quality Experience * Food preferred * Experience with wet chemistry testing * Ability to read and comprehend instructions and communicate effectively. * Proficiency in English language. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of ALSIP, IL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $21.00/hr.
