Description Summary: The main function of a lab technologist trainee is to perform complex medical laboratory tests for the diagnosis treatment and prevention of disease. A typical lab technologist trainee usually reports to a department supervisor. Work Schedule: 10p-630a Wed, Thu, Fr, Sat and Sun Department: General Lab Pay: $28-$30 Job Responsibilities: Analyze laboratory findings to check the accuracy of the results. May analyze samples of biological material for chemical content or reaction. Enter data from analysis of medical tests and clinical results into computer for storage. Operate calibrate and maintain equipment used in quantitative and qualitative analysis. Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to departmental Standard Operating Procedures Monitor operate and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality. Demonstrate the ability to make technical decisions regarding testing and problem-solving. Prepare test and evaluate new reagents or controls Report accurate and timely test results in order to deliver quality patient care Perform and document preventive maintenance and quality control procedures Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as necessary Processing of specimens when needed Maintain a safe work environment and wear appropriate personal protective equipment Responsible for new testing validation Skills: Verbal and written communication skills attention to detail and problem-solving skills. Basic ability to work independently and manage time. Basic knowledge of the information and techniques needed to diagnose and treat human injuries and diseases. Basic knowledge of Good Clinical Practice international quality standard for human clinical trials and local regulations. Basic ability to analyze data and accurately document and record results.
