Description This person will perform calibrations of RF test and measurement systems including signal generators, spectrum analyzers, and oscilloscopes with in-lab calibration serving as their primary function. They will also perform on-site customer service/maintenance calls for equipment that cannot leave customer premises but will not need to travel further than 2 hours one way. Occasional overnight travel may be required as well. This person must maintain calibration standards and documentation for client usage and work alongside senior technicians during on-site service calls while under contract (mentorship/training phase). Additional Skills & Qualifications Troubleshooting, schematic reading, and circuit repair will come into play during on-site maintenance and diagnosing faults on larger equipment that cannot be moved to lab. Network analyzer and wireless network experience is relevant given the land comms systems focus. Preventive maintenance experience is a plus for the recurring local service calls out of the Draper location. No degree required, high school education is sufficient. No certifications required, but military Cal program completion (PMEL or equivalent) is the strongest background available. 5+ years of RF experience is the floor regardless of whether that time was military or commercial. Key attributes of success: hands-on cal lab or military RF background , ability to work independently on customer sites, professional demeanor for client-facing work. People who have come from competitors like Transcat, Tektronix, or Trescal tend to ramp quickly. Candidates with commercial cal lab time outside of RF can be considered if they have supplemental RF coursework or military electronics training.
