Other duties may be assigned. • The MDP will provide comprehensive clinical and medical care at a primary and secondary level in an outpatient setting. • The MDP will collaborate with the Nurse Practitioner (NP), Physician Assistants (PA's) Physicians (MD's) and other health professionals to provide a broad range of health care to the Bad River Community. • Will supervise the Clinic RN, the Nurse Practitioner, Medical Laboratory Supervisor, Clinical Pharmacist, Radiology Supervisor and Medical Office Assistant. • Will serve as medical consultant to the Clinic Administrator, HIPAA Privacy Officer, Wellness Director, Health Advisory Board, Tribal Council and various tribal health programs. • Assist in the training and evaluation of the medical staff. • Ensuring that the medical staff and facility comply with the federal rules, regulations and codes. • Enhancing cooperation between Nurses, Physicians and relevant medical departments. • Evaluating the coordination of the medical team to ensure the success of the clinic. • Evaluating and diffusing any tension that arises in medical staff. • Responsible for positive representation of Clinic, exemplifying a personal conduct and management style which reflects an appropriate role model. • Will demonstrate tact, courtesy and a positive approach to communication and interaction with other employees, visitors, physicians and clients. • Will be responsible for communications with the Clinic to ensure that information is shared for effective operations. • Will work in cooperation with AODA, MAT, Orthopedic PT/OT & Chiropractic staff and Behavioral Health services. • Other duties as assigned Qualifications:Qualifications Requirements: Medical Director should have experience working in previous healthcare organizations with five (5) years' previous experience. The Medical Director should have experience teaching or managing others such as the role of a student preceptor. Previous experience working in an administrative role using computers and handling electronic medical records. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily with or without reasonable accommodation. Education and/or Experience: Required: Graduate of an accredited member of the Association of American Colleges, with a Board-Certified Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree and licensed to practice medicine in the state of Wisconsin or be eligible to hold/obtain a license. Also prefer applicants who have other certifications, like the Certified Medical Director (CMD) offered by the American Board of Post-Acute and Long-Term Care Medicine. Preferred: Certified ACLS Other Skills and Abilities: Required: This is not a required driver position. Completion of residency in Family Practice preferred and Board certified. Medical Director uses their experience as a Physician to ensure a patient's positive experience in the clinic. Must have a natural ability to lead a team of Doctors, Nurses and other medical professionals.
