Abo!ut the Eye Care Team Member Positions Bennett EyeCare Midwest, a locally owned optometric private practice with 6 locations, is hiring!  Positions available include Optometric Technician/Medical Assistant, Front Desk Receptionist and Optician.  We are looking for employees to work at our Northland locations! An Optometric Technician/Medical Assistant is responsible for providing support to ensure efficient operation of the optometric office. Technicians assist doctors and patients through a variety of tasks related to patient care management, organization, and communication. A Front Desk Receptionist answers the phone, schedules appointments, files insurance, collects payments, and performs other administrative tasks.  Good communication skills and a friendly disposition is a must! An optician helps patients purchase eyewear so they can see their world with clarity, comfort and style.  An optician assists the patient with frame styling, offers recommendations on lens options, and takes measurements to ensure the eyeglass prescription performs perfectly.  On the job training is available! Technician/Medical Assistant Responsibilities Interview patients and document basic medical historyPerform preliminary vision testing up to and including refractionPerform ancillary testing, such as fundus photography, corneal thickness measurements, OCT testing and visual field testingAssist during medical examinationsCoordinate the ordering of diagnostic contact lensesProduce and distribute correspondence memos, letters, faxes and formsPrepare and clean exam rooms and medical instruments Front Desk Receptionist Responsibilities Answers incoming phone callsOrganizes and Schedules appointmentsPatient Check-in and Check-outCollect co-pays or payments for eyewear and medical treatmentsVerify Insurance benefits / prepare charts for upcoming appointmentsBasic phone triageHelps patients and guests feel comfortable and welcome in our lobby and waiting areas Optician Responsibilities Takes & records measurements, adjusts eyewear correctly.  Ensures finished eyewear meets our standards & customer requirementsAssists patients with frame selectionGreets all customers with a warm welcome right away.  Provides timely, skilled service to customersUpdates and files optical and/or vision insurance claims.Demonstrates superior product knowledge; takes the initiative to accurately describe the features & benefits of various lenses & framesVerifies prescription accuracy prior to dispensingShows ability to work with others in a busy environment, staying positive and friendly
