A registered nurse with specialized experience in neurosurgery and neuroscience is needed for a dynamic role on the 4th Floor Neuro Unit of a well-respected hospital in Trussville, AL. This contract position offers a consistent schedule with 36 guaranteed hours weekly, providing care for neurosurgery patients in an 18-bed unit while maintaining a patient ratio of 1:6. Key Responsibilities: Deliver comprehensive nursing care to neurosurgery and neuroscience patients. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Utilize Cerner EMR for accurate documentation and patient management. Adhere to hospital policies regarding dress code and infection control (Navy blue scrubs, no artificial fingernails). Float to other units as needed to support hospital operations. Qualifications: Registered Nurse (RN) with at least 2 years of nursing experience. Demonstrated knowledge and skills in neurosurgery/neuroscience. Current AHA BLS (Basic Life Support) certification. Current AHA NIH Stroke Scale certification is required. Ability to maintain positive interactions with patients and staff. Comfortable managing a 1:6 patient ratio in a fast-paced environment.
