About the Practice: A dynamic and established anesthesia practice in the vibrant Dallas, Texas area is seeking a skilled and dedicated Anesthesia Assistant to join their team on a full-time basis. This practice specializes in providing high-quality anesthesia services primarily for gastrointestinal (GI) procedures within an efficient outpatient setting. Opportunity: This is an excellent full-time opportunity for an Anesthesia Assistant to specialize in providing anesthesia care for gastrointestinal endoscopic procedures. The role offers a consistent and focused workload within a high-volume outpatient setting. This position provides a valuable chance to become an integral part of a specialized team dedicated to GI care, enhancing efficiency and patient comfort during procedures. Responsibilities: Under the direction of a supervising Anesthesiologist, provide comprehensive anesthesia care for a variety of gastrointestinal endoscopic procedures (e.g., colonoscopies, endoscopies). Assist in the pre-anesthetic evaluation of patients, including obtaining medical histories and performing physical assessments relevant to anesthesia. Develop and implement individualized anesthetic plans in collaboration with the Anesthesiologist. Administer and monitor anesthesia safely and effectively, including induction, maintenance, and emergence. Monitor patient's vital signs and physiological responses during anesthesia and make appropriate adjustments. Manage patients in the post-anesthesia care unit (PACU). Maintain accurate and complete patient records. Prepare and maintain anesthesia equipment, medications, and supplies. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and adhere to all practice and facility protocols. Collaborate effectively with gastroenterologists, nurses, and other members of the healthcare team. Qualifications: Graduate of an accredited Anesthesiologist Assistant (AA) program. Current NCCAA certification. Valid and unrestricted Texas Anesthesia Assistant license (or eligible for licensure). Strong clinical skills in providing anesthesia for GI procedures are preferred, but enthusiasm to specialize in this area is welcome. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
