License: Licensed Occupational Therapist Certifications: Proof of 2 hours of CVA specific continuing education within the last four months. Must-Have: - Ability to perform patient evaluations using appropriate functional tests and measures. - Ability to construct short-term and long-term goals with appropriate frequency and duration. - Demonstrates proper and secure documentation in the Electronic Medical Record. - Ability to use critical thinking with patient evaluation and treatment planning. - Understanding of physical agent modalities commonly used in practice. - Ability to identify learning needs of patients or family members. - Strong teamwork skills to assist patients and families throughout the continuum of care. Description: The Seasonal Occupational Therapist is responsible for implementing physician orders for Occupational Therapy services. They should provide all necessary aspects of Occupational Therapy within an interdisciplinary environment. The goal is to facilitate the return of the patient to as independent and safe a lifestyle as possible. The Occupational Therapist must possess a knowledge base in the care of pediatric, adolescent, and geriatric patients. They demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary for providing age-appropriate care. The Seasonal Therapist assesses data reflective of the patient's status and interprets the necessary information. They identify each patient's requirements relative to age-specific needs and provide appropriate care. The role involves frequent walking, balancing, standing, turning, reaching, lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling. Physical demands may include constant handling and sensory discrimination, with occasional running or climbing. The Occupational Therapist must be able to lift, handle, push, and pull up to 50 pounds. They operate various assistive devices, such as blood pressure machines, pulse oximetry, wheelchairs, and walkers. The position also requires a thorough understanding of the cardiopulmonary, musculoskeletal, nervous, and integumentary systems. This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive.
