Title Associate Professor of Nutrition and Wellness Appointment Status Tenure Track Department IU Indianapolis Department of Kinesiology - School of Health & Human Sciences Location Indianapolis Position Summary The Department of Kinesiology in the School of Health & Human Sciences (SHHS) at Indiana University Indianapolis invites applications for a 10-month appointment, tenure-track faculty position. The successful applicant will be responsible for maintaining an active research agenda, including external funding, leveraging campus resources in the health and life sciences that advance the campus mission, mentoring both graduate (MS and PhD) and undergraduate (BS) students, engaging in teaching, and providing service to the school, university, community, and profession. Individuals with a collaborative spirit, translational research experience, and/or community engagement experiences are especially encouraged to apply. Duties 50% Research 40% Teaching 10% Service The Department of Kinesiology offers a PhD in Human Performance and Rehabilitation Sciences, an MS in Human Performance and Rehabilitation Sciences, and BS programs in Exercise Science, Applied Fitness and Sport Performance, and Physical Education Teacher Education. Additionally, the department offers a minor in Wellness Coaching, Dance, Health Education, and Sport Coaching. As well as certificates in Youth Physical Wellness and Personal Training. Applications will be reviewed beginning May 1, 2026, and will be accepted until the position is filled. The ideal target starting date is August 1, 2026. Basic Qualifications * Ph.D. in a relevant field, including but not limited to: * Nutrition Sciences or Dietetics * Behavioral Health (emphasizing Nutrition and/or Wellness). * Kinesiology or Exercise Science (emphasizing Nutrition and/or Wellness). * Health Sciences (emphasizing Nutrition and/or Wellness). * Proven track record of external funding. * Successful collaborative projects in the health and life sciences. * Demonstrated success in research as demonstrated by peer-reviewed publications and presentations.
