This contract opportunity is ideal for a licensed Music Therapist with experience in school settings, providing therapeutic music services to students in a flexible, part-time schedule. The position supports multiple school locations within the Frederick County Public Schools district in Maryland, offering the chance to make a positive impact on student development through creative music therapy interventions. Location: Sykesville, MD (with itinerant travel to schools within the district) Key Responsibilities: Deliver individualized and group music therapy services to students with diverse needs, enhancing their social, emotional, and cognitive growth Collaborate with educators, therapists, and families to develop and implement effective treatment plans Maintain detailed documentation and progress notes in compliance with district policies Participate in team meetings and contribute to ongoing program development Provide services one day per week, following a schedule that supports school and student needs Qualifications: Current Maryland licensure in Music Therapy Proven experience working as a music therapist in educational or clinical settings Strong interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively with students, staff, and families Ability to adapt therapeutic approaches to meet individual student goals Commitment to professional ethics and standards in therapy services This role offers the opportunity to engage creatively with students while working within a supportive educational environment on a contract basis extending through June 5th, 2026.
