High school graduate; Licensure not required but preference of current LPN or RN licensure in State of Minnesota2. Current Red Cross First Aid and CPR certification (we will help obtain)3. Respect for confidentiality of information4. Ability and interest in working with students, parents, school staff5. Maturity and stability; ability to recognize limitations, to accept and utilize supervision6. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision REPORTS TO:Superintendent and Potential District RN PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Administer first aid and episodic care in accordance with school district policy. 2. Arrange for transportation of students who become ill or are injured at school. Including but not limited to correlating with guardians. 3. Make appropriate referrals to guardians, chemical awareness counselor and other staff members as needed (i.e. pregnancy, drug use, acute chronic illness). 4. Administer medication only to students having appropriate forms complete. Keep accurate record of medication administered. Obtain written orders, as needed, from licensed prescribers. Keep organization of medication forms. 5. As a member of the health team, is responsible for triage of information to appropriate team members. 6. Be responsible for health services clerical details which include: A. Maintenance of accurate health records (i.e. initiate new/transfer student's health cards and collect, review, record and file health information - immunizations, sign history) B. Recording of screenings and physical examinations C. Prepare accident reports, confidential health lists, health history updates, parent notification forms, etc. D. Complete requisitions for health office supplies E. Issue first aid supplies to staff F. Stock first aid cabinets G. Scheduling of appointments H. Typing, filing and answer phone calls and other related functions for maintenance of an organized and effective health office 7. Assist building administrator with enforcement of immunization regulations. 8. Assist with screenings under the direction of the District: A. Arrange for volunteers and location of screening B. Help set up and put away screening equipment C. Schedule and assist students to get to screening site9. Clean health office as necessary (cots daily, change germicide, thermometers, etc.)10. Other duties as assignedBENEFITS AND RATES:Position has the opportunity to enroll in coverages for health, dental, vision, HSA, 403b, PERA and Short Term Disability along with paid sick time and vacation time. Pay will start at $21.75 hourly and increase based on licensure with the State of Minnesota.
