About the jobSUMMARY Performs the daily data entry of environmental sampling and endotoxin results. Assists in maintaining the laboratory. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. • Assist in preparing and shipping samples for microbial identification. • Maintains inventories of lab supplies, stock, and order consumables. • May perform additional laboratory tests under the direction of Microbiologist. • Read and train on all required SOP's and review completed documentation for quality completeness and company compliance. • Cleans Microbiology laboratory work areas. • Perform laboratory duties in a manner consistent with company policy. • Wear gowning, sterile garments, and PPE as required by specific activities. • Alert Manager/Supervisor when problems occur which deviate from Standard Operating Procedures. • Must be proficient in the use of computers and applications such as databases, worksheets (Excel) and word processing (Word). Work must be accurate, legible and error free. • Performs record keeping of test results and movement of testing samples in accordance with established procedures. • Assists with data entry and trend analysis activities. • May perform additional laboratory tests under the direction of Microbiologist.Set yourself apartTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Experience in computer operation and basic word processing programs. Ability to communicate and work well with others, good oral and written skills. EDUCATION Required: Associate degree in Life Sciences + 0 to 1 year laboratory experience. REASONING ABILITY Solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical documents.
