Lab Technician Location: New Orleans, Louisiana Schedule: Monday-Friday | Day Shift About the Role We are seeking a Lab Technician to join our production‑focused laboratory team. This role supports chemists and analysts through hands‑on sample preparation, chemical extraction, and routine testing in a high‑throughput environment. This position is ideal for early‑career scientists or recent graduates who are detail‑oriented, eager to learn, and interested in growing into a higher‑level scientist or technologist role. You'll gain exposure to advanced instrumentation, analytical methods, and laboratory information management systems while working alongside experienced professionals. What You'll Do + Review daily testing backlogs and complete assigned analyses accurately and on time + Prepare samples for analysis, including labeling, handling, and processing per established protocols + Perform chemical extractions and routine chemical testing in accordance with SOPs and validated methods + Operate and monitor laboratory equipment (including centrifuges) to support analytical testing + Mix and prepare solvents; replace and document expired reagents as required + Accurately document test results and sample data, including entry into LIMS + Support chemists and analysts by delivering timely, organized, and reliable test results + Apply critical thinking to troubleshoot basic issues in sample preparation and testing + Maintain a clean, organized, and safe laboratory environment + Follow all laboratory quality standards, safety requirements, and regulatory guidelines + Collaborate with team members to meet production timelines and business needs + Participate in an intensive training program and ongoing development to learn new instrumentation and methods What We're Looking For Required Qualifications + Bachelor of Science degree in a life science discipline (chemistry coursework preferred) + Hands‑on experience with sample preparation and basic chemical laboratory practices + Ability to follow standardized operating procedures with strong attention to detail + Proficiency with laboratory data systems or willingness to learn LIMS + Sound decision‑making and problem‑solving skills in a lab setting Work Environment & Schedule + Standard hours: 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., Monday-Friday + Our culture emphasizes continuous learning, exposure to new technologies, and professional development alongside experienced scientists and technologists.
