Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an Ultrasound Technologist / Sonographer with a minimum of 2 years of experience and ARDMS registration for an 8-week travel assignment in a Diagnostic Imaging department.Job Details• Diagnostic Imaging department within an acute care hospital setting,• Ultrasound procedures performed across multiple areas including OB/GYN, abdomen, breast, vascular, and small parts,• 4x10 hour day shifts, 8:00 AM - 6:30 PM, 40 hours per week,• May be required to float to other departments within clinical scope before core staff is floated,Job Requirements• Minimum of 2 years of ultrasound experience required,• Associate's or Bachelor's degree from a CAHEA-accredited sonography program or equivalent required,• ARDMS registration and OBMI certification required,• Current BLS and NRP required,• CRASE training preferred; required if assignment extends beyond 6 months,• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs independently and assist with transferring patients over 100 lbs using proper technique or mechanical aids,• License required if applicable,Additional Information• Serves as an advanced user and in-depth resource for all clinical ultrasound applications, workflow, and associated principles within the Diagnostic Imaging team,• Responsibilities include preparing patients for procedures, selecting and operating ultrasound equipment, positioning patients, evaluating image quality, and assisting licensed practitioners with interventional procedures,• May provide practical instruction for students and other healthcare professionals and serve as a training resource for peers, vendors, and applications personnel,• Participates in department quality assessment and improvement initiatives, and may be responsible for quality control and supply inventory in the assigned area,• Works in a fast-paced, indoor healthcare environment with frequent exposure to infectious diseases, hazardous materials, and medical equipment; PPE required,• Participates in required education for DNV programs as applicable to the position
