Be a valuable resource in the Head Start program and beyond, making an impact on students with mild to moderate disabilities. You will use your expertise to assist with early identification and intervention for children experiencing academic, social, or emotional challenges. Your day will include performing comprehensive psychological assessments-from cognitive abilities to social-emotional functioning-to help determine students' eligibility for special education services. Effectively communicate findings with families, teachers, and administrators, ensuring a collaborative approach to each student's educational journey. Key Qualifications: Valid Michigan School Psychologist Certification or Preliminary School Psychologist Certification (required) Ability to provide official university transcripts prior to submission Previous experience in school psychology or related agency role (preferred) Comfort and familiarity working in urban schools Knowledge of special education laws, specifically Michigan Administrative Rules for Special Education (MARSE) and related IDEA regulations Strong communication skills and ability to support diverse learners Primary Responsibilities: Collaborate in the design and delivery of early identification and intervention for students Conduct thorough psychological assessments, evaluations, and documentation Communicate results and recommendations clearly to all stakeholders Regularly collaborate with school staff, attend professional development, and ensure best practices are followed Uphold and implement special education policies consistently throughout assigned buildings Participate in related duties as assigned This on-site position is full-time (35 hours per week), with a caseload of approximately 60 students. The contract runs through June 2026, with potential ESY and renewal for the 2026-2027 year.
