Certified SalariesReports to: Director of Exceptional ServicesSummary:Provides a continuum of psychological services that support regular and special educational students ages 2 through 21, as well as the overall school program; Responsibilities may include counseling, consultation with parents, teachers, counselors, social workers, special education providers, administrative staff, and outside agencies such as private professionals and the court system, as well as assessment, program planning, direct or supervised intervention.Essential DutiesConsults with school personnel identifying students who have learning and/or adjustment difficultiesConducts comprehensive, psycho-educational evaluations which include review of records; formal testing/informal testing; observation of the student's functioning in the classroom and other settings to analyze learning and behavior difficulties; interviews with the student, teacher(s), administrators, and/or outside agenciesDocuments evaluation results and completes required reports within Federal, State, and local timelinesConsults and communicates with teachers, parents, and school personnel regarding the results of all relative evaluation information and assists school teams in linking evaluative data to appropriate student interventionsProvides psychological services through District, department, and school committees attending special education eligibility meetings, assisting with manifestation determinations and discipline reviewsParticipates in the decision-making process to determine appropriate services for all studentsProvides crisis intervention as neededConducts or participates in data collection and evaluation to determine the usefulness and effectiveness of psychological services and various educational programs in the systemAdheres to Federal, State, and local guidelines and policies in the provision of School Psychological servicesParticipates on Student Support Teams as an academic and behavioral consultant Supervises school psychology interns as necessaryConducts in-service training for school personnel, parents, and central office staffUpdates and expands professional skills through participation in staff development programs, professional activities, workshops, and professional organizationsPerforms other duties as assigned by the appropriate administratorKnowledge/Skills/AbilitiesProficiency in administration, scoring, and interpretation of a wide variety of psychological and psychometric instrumentsMust have a thorough understanding of child development, special education, classroom dynamics and instructional strategiesMust be able to successfully manage multiple tasks, projects and responsibilitiesAbility to apply critical thinking skills in rendering solutions to various District human resource issuesMust be able to collaborate effectively with District personnel, the general public, and work with diverse groups of peopleExcellent communication skills both written and verbalPhysical DemandsRoutine physical activity associated with normal office and school environmentApplication Procedure: Candidates must complete the system application available online at Complete applications must contain a current resume, copies of transcripts of all college credit, copy of certificate and 3 complete reference evaluation forms (available in the online application) to be considered.Selection Procedure: Consideration/interviews will begin as soon as a list of qualified applicants is established.
