Role OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Freight Agent / Freight Broker with an existing book of business who can generate and manage freight opportunities from day one. This role is ideal for a self-starter who understands the full brokerage cycle, from prospecting shippers to securing carriers and closing profitable loads.This is a high-autonomy, high-reward role with strong earning potential tied directly to performance.Key ResponsibilitiesManage and grow an existing book of business (shippers and/or carriers)Source, negotiate, and close freight opportunities across multiple modes (FTL, LTL, etc.)Build and maintain strong relationships with shippers and carriersUtilize load boards and internal systems to cover freight efficientlyNegotiate rates to maximize profitabilityCoordinate shipments and ensure timely deliveryResolve issues proactively and maintain high service levelsContinuously prospect and onboard new clientsRequirements (Must-Have)3-7+ years of freight brokerage / freight agent experienceProven book of business (portable or active relationships)Strong understanding of load boards (DAT, Truckstop, etc.)Experience working directly with shippers and carriersDemonstrated ability to generate revenue quicklyStrong negotiation and closing skillsSelf-motivated with the ability to work independentlyNice to HaveExperience scaling a book of businessMulti-modal expertise (flatbed, reefer, drayage, etc.)Established carrier networkExperience in a remote brokerage environment
