Physician - Family Medicine Position Summary Provides full‑spectrum family medicine services to a diverse beneficiary population at a Military Treatment Facility, delivering patient‑centered, evidence‑based care across the lifespan in accordance with DHA and MTF standards. Education and Experience Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO). Graduate from an accredited medical school in the United States or Canada accredited by LCME, COCA, ACGME‑recognized bodies, or equivalent. Must have successfully completed an ACGME‑ or AOA‑approved internship and residency program in Family Medicine. Must have at least one year of clinical experience within the past two years. Certifications Must hold and maintain Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross. Computer‑based training does not meet certification requirements. Must also meet Basic Life Support requirements. All certifications must be maintained at no cost to the Government. Licensure Must have and maintain a current, full, active, and unrestricted license to practice medicine in any one of the 50 states, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or U.S. territory. Must maintain DEA registration and National Provider Identifier (NPI). Board Certification Must maintain current board certification by the American Board of Family Medicine (ABFM) or the American Osteopathic Board of Family Medicine (AOBFM). Contract Worker Standard Qualifications * Provide a full range of Family Medicine physician services within the scope of privileges granted by the Medical Treatment Facility (MTF). * Deliver comprehensive outpatient care including preventive medicine, acute care, chronic disease management, musculoskeletal care, pediatrics, and women's health. * See patients of all ages and beneficiary categories, including active‑duty members, dependents, and retirees. * Assess, diagnose, and treat patients using evidence‑based practices and DHA clinical guidelines. * Conduct new patient evaluations and established follow‑up visits. * Participate in telehealth visits, virtual encounters, telephone consults, and secure messaging in accordance with MTF policy. * Collaborate with specialty providers, community health agencies, and social support programs to ensure continuity of care. * Complete all required clinical and administrative documentation accurately and timely, including profiles, referrals, and encounter notes, within 72 business hours. * Ensure patient productivity is comparable to that of military and civilian family physicians assigned to the same facility. * Practice in compliance with Medical Staff Bylaws, credentialing requirements, DHA policies, Joint Commission standards, and ethical standards. * Prescribe medications in accordance with DHA formulary guidelines and Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee policies. * Recognize and manage emergency conditions including respiratory and cardiac arrest, initiating immediate care as required. * Maintain accurate medical coding (CPT/E&M/procedures) with a minimum accuracy rate of 90 percent. * Serve as a patient advocate and mandatory reporter in accordance with applicable laws and policies. * Provide leadership, mentoring, and clinical instruction to residents, students, and allied health personnel as appropriate. * Participate in committees, quality improvement initiatives, medical readiness activities, staff meetings, and professional development activities. * Ensure patient privacy, HIPAA compliance, infection control, and a safe clinical environment at all times.
