Job Description

This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific individual eligibility requirements in accordance with VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after complete review of the EDRP application. This is an open continuous announcement until September 30, 2026. Qualified applicants will be considered and referred as vacancies become available. The Neurologist is expected to perform all services required in the practice of Neurology in the context of the VA system and his/her clinical privileges; and provide appropriate documentation in the electronic record. Duties include but not limited to: * Provides direct patient-centered care as delineated in the list of clinical privileges for Neurology. * Provides comprehensive general neurological care to outpatients, including patient history, neurological examination, diagnosis, follow-up as needed, medical record documentation according to standard and acceptable practices. * Assimilates the results of diagnostic studies (i.e., EMG, EEG) into the formulation of a differential diagnosis and treatment plan. * Works collaboratively with other specialists and Primary Care PACT teams to ensure patients receive continuous quality care. * Prescribes medications according to federal and state law. * Responsible for the oversight of all aspects of neurologic care delivered to their assigned patients. * Perform neurologic procedures, such as NCS/EMG, EEG interpretation, and/or Botox administration, commensurate to his/her individual training and expertise, in accordance with local VA credentialing and privileging requirements. * Provide education to other physicians and healthcare professionals regarding neurological disorders and their treatments. * Provide education, supervision, and mentoring to Medical students, residents, and fellows in neurological disorders and their treatments. * Participate in inpatient, outpatient subspecialty duties as assigned, including on-call assignments VA offers a comprehensive total rewards package.
