The Health and Wellness Center serves as a vital component of the university community by offering a wide range of facilities, programs, and services designed to promote holistic well-being and student engagement. Through diverse recreational experiences, fitness opportunities, and wellness initiatives, the department encourages students, faculty, and staff to lead active, balanced lifestyles that contribute to their physical, mental, and social health. By fostering an inclusive and welcoming environment, The Health and Wellness Center not only supports the development of lifelong healthy habits but also creates meaningful opportunities for connection, teamwork, and personal growth that enhance the overall campus experience.Primary Purpose of the Position: The Coordinator manages overall student activity data collection, and oversees daily Campus Recreation facility operations including training and development of 30+ students. The position ensures safe, inclusive, and efficient facility management while promoting participation and engagement in recreational opportunities.Assist with the collection, organization, and documentation of program and participation dataGreet students and visitors and check individuals in at the front desk or entry pointHelp maintain the cleanliness, organization, and overall appearance of the Health and Wellness Center, including shared spaces and resource areasAssist professional staff with day-to-day operational tasks and special projects as neededUphold confidentiality and professionalism when interacting with students and handling sensitive informationIs on-call to provide leadership during times facilities and programs are operatingEvening and weekend work required, and flexible schedule requiredMinimum Education and Experience Requirements: 2+ years of professional experience in developing and supervising student and/or part-time employees. Graduate assistantship experience is acceptable2+ years of professional experience working with facility operations, supervising and/or coordinating weight and fitness areasAmerican Red Cross First Aid/CPR/AED certification or ability to obtain certificationExperience in assessing participant participation and satisfactionKnowledge skills and abilities: Ability to work independently and as part of a teamReliable, organized, and detail orientedDemonstrated diversity advocateAbility to plan and make decisions independentlyExcellent interpersonal skills, including customer service skillsAbility to communicate effectively both orally and in writingDemonstrated proficiency in use of computers and relevant software applicationsAbility to lift up to 50 poundsPreferred Qualifications:• 2 years of Experience working in a collegiate setting• General knowledge of operations tied into the management of a multipurpose facilitySpecial Instructions to Applicants: Please make sure that the work history listed on your application is identical to the work history listed on your resume.
