DescriptionProvide direct supervision to MH officers assigned to the program in conjunction with hiring authority. Maintain open line of communication with hiring authority, TTBH Mobile Crisis Outreach Team (MCOT), managers, supervisors and the person supervising this position. Complete performance evaluations in collaboration with hiring authority for MH officers assigned to the program. Ensures MH officers under supervision are scheduled for and receive all mandatory training within established time frames. Assists in the Scheduling of MH officers ensuring 24/7/365 coverage for Willacy, Cameron and Hidalgo counties. Ensures MH officers under supervision document encounters within 48 hours and as established by policy. Meets at least monthly with direct reports individually and/or as a group to promote and develop quality leadership, addressing areas of performance requiring improvement and providing training and general support. Provides reporting as requested to demonstrate performance against established outcomes, performance and improvement metrics and measures. Will assist with the completion of the annual budget for this program. Will work under the immediate supervision of the MHOT SupervisorRequirementsAt least ten (10) years of commissioned law enforcement experience, including a minimum of five (5) years in a supervisory role. Applicants must have an honorable discharge on their most recent TCOLE F-5. A Master Peace Officer Certificate issued by TCOLE, combined with twenty (20) years of commissioned law enforcement service, may be accepted in place of the five (5) years of supervisory experience. A TCOLE Instructor certification (1014), or the ability to obtain one within six months of hire. TCOLE Mental Health Officer certification (4001 or 4201) and Crisis Intervention Training (CIT 1850), or the ability to obtain one within six months of hire. Proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel. Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
