We are seeking a Respiratory Therapist to join our team at Lotus Village Center for Nursing & Rehabilitation in Sparta, North Carolina. As a Respiratory Therapist at our facility, you will have the opportunity to work with residents who have chronic and complex respiratory conditions, providing consistent support focused on comfort, stability, and long-term progress.Key Responsibilities:Assess and evaluate residents' respiratory status, including respiratory rate, oxygen saturation, lung sounds, and overall airway functionImplement individualized care plans in collaboration with the medical teamAdminister oxygen therapy, nebulizer treatments, and inhaled medicationsProvide chest physiotherapy (postural drainage, percussion, and vibration) to assist in mobilizing secretionsEducate residents and their families on the proper use of respiratory equipment and medicationsCollaborate with nursing staff, physicians, and other healthcare providers to deliver comprehensive care plansMaintain accurate, up-to-date records of respiratory treatments and interventionsEnsure compliance with state and federal regulations concerning respiratory care documentationTroubleshoot equipment malfunctions and ensure readiness for use when neededQualifications:Associate's degree in Respiratory Therapy or related field (Bachelor's preferred)Completion of an accredited Respiratory Therapy programState of North Carolina Respiratory Care Practitioner licenseCertification by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT)Basic Life Support (BLS) certificationAdvanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification may be required depending on facility requirementsPrevious experience in a long-term care, hospital, or rehabilitation setting preferredFamiliarity with chronic respiratory diseases and ventilator management is essentialAbility to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare teamWork Environment:Long-term care facilities or skilled nursing homes with 24-hour careMay involve shifts, including evenings, nights, weekends, or on-call dutiesPhysical Requirements:Ability to stand, walk, and move residents as neededFrequent bending, lifting, and pushing respiratory equipmentAbility to respond quickly in emergenciesSalary and Benefits:Competitive salary based on experience and qualificationsHealth insurance, retirement plan, paid time off, and other benefitsContinuing education and professional development opportunitiesIf you are a motivated and compassionate professional looking for a rewarding career in respiratory therapy, we encourage you to apply for this exciting opportunity.
