This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) & eligibility period (1 to 5 years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after review of the EDRP application. Major Duties: * Participates and manages a diverse Dermatology Team that provides comprehensive care to include diagnosis, treatment, follow-up and education of patients with Dermatologic conditions in inpatient/outpatient settings. * Documents patient encounters and coding of visits accurately and timely. * Evaluates, triage, and prioritize Dermatology consult requests to ensure timely care for patients. Performs excisional or diagnostic skin biopsies and minor skin surgeries. * Reviews images from store and forward program to make treatment recommendations or determine urgency of face-to-face evaluations. * Supervise providers in the dermatology section, including performance reviews and evaluations; ensuring providers are informed of and adherent to VA policies and procedures. * Ensures efficient operations of the dermatology section and dermatology clinics. * Advances the clinical, educational and research missions of VA. * Participates in multidisciplinary/facility level process improvement teams and workgroups and committees as requested. * Coordinates care at VA or non-VA referral centers for patients requiring services not provided at the facility such as MOHS surgery. * Completes CME as required to maintain competency in Dermatology, medical licensure and board certification. HIPAA, Privacy and Security and other mandatory VA training in a timely manner. * Perform other duties as appropriately assigned.
