Individual must maintain a high degree of accuracy in positioning and scanning technique. Communicates with the patient and relays any pertinent information to the radiologist and documents on tracking sheet/chart. Communicates with the radiologist and understands and performs any necessary additional exams.Department/Center Highlights: High PerformingEfficiency-Focused CenterCollaborative and Supportive Team CultureHere is what you will need: Education: Graduate of a formal Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program that is accredited by the Commission Accreditation of Allied Health Education Program.Certificates: Active certification with ARDMS. Current compliance with CME requirements.Language Skills: Ability to effectively communicate to patients the procedures and educate women about the role of regular mammography in preventative breast health.Ability to read and write and comprehend medical terminology. Ability to effectively communicate information on a one-on-one and small group basis to doctors, patients, and other employees.Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed and sometimes involved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving concrete variables in standardized situations.Computer Skills: Knowledge of database software and RIS/PACS software.Physical demands: Needs to be able to stand for long periods of time.A Day in the Life of a Diagnostic Breast Sonographer: Provide services and support for the following areas:Understands, promotes and demonstrates the Solis WayProduces high quality ultrasound images and obtain appropriate measurements for each examDocuments all applicable patient and procedure data consistently and correctlyExplains procedures adequately to patients to maximize patient comfort and cooperationAppropriate monitoring during all phases of procedure with special care taken to insurepatient emotional and physical well-beingAssist and/or chaperones radiologist when they are performing ultrasound examsAssists radiologists during ultrasound biopsy procedures using appropriate steriletechnique and universal precautionsCommunicates patient information in a professional and courteous manner to patientsand to referring physicians' offices as required.Maintains the ultrasound equipment for cleanliness and insures proper equipmentmaintenance and equipment safetyMaintains a good working relationship with Radiologists and other Center staff membersOther duties as assignedWhy Solis Mammography?
