Job Description

American Traveler is seeking a CT Technologist with a minimum of 3 years of experience and ARRT (CT) certification for a 13-week acute care assignment utilizing GE and Siemens 64-slice scanners.Job Details• Acute care hospital setting in a CT department with 2 scan rooms,• Department averages 65 scans per day across a 24-hour period,• Common studies include head, chest, abdomen, pelvis, extremities, and biopsies,• Staffed with 3 techs per day along with nursing support for IVs and pre-medication administration,• EMR: Cerner (Community Works); PACS: Intellirad/Intelliconnect,• Equipment includes GE VCT 64-slice and Siemens Somatom Definition 64-slice scanners,• Techs must be able to start IVs,• Shift is 8 hours, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM-4:30 PM; no call required,• Department follows a 2-on, 2-off, 3-on rotating schedule across two teams with shift options spanning days, afternoons, and overnights,• Travelers may be the only tech on-site overnight,• Every-other-weekend (EOW) requirement,• No floating to other departments,• 13-week contract,Job Requirements• Minimum of 3 years of CT experience required,• ARRT (CT) certification preferred; candidates with 3-5 years of CT experience may be considered in lieu of specialty certification,• Current BLS certification required,• WV X-ray License required if applicable,• IV placement experience required,• Proficiency with GE and/or Siemens 64-slice CT scanners preferred,• Experience with Cerner EMR preferred,• Must be able to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment,• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible,• A copy of an unexpired driver's license is required for consideration,• Any licensing hits must be disclosed upfront,Additional Information• Perform CT imaging of the head, chest, abdomen, pelvis, and extremities; biopsy experience is a plus, and on-the-job training for biopsies is available if needed,• Sterile tray setup is part of routine responsibilities,• Radiologist is on-site until 5:00 PM; after hours, a radiologist is on call, with VRad covering remote interpretation from 2:00 AM-6:00 AM,• Department is supervised by an Imaging Director and Manager (available M-F during daytime hours and by phone after hours); a Lead Tech works a 2-2-3 rotating schedule with the CT team,• Orientation consists of 5 preceptor-supervised shifts,• Travelers may be asked to participate in holiday rotation coverage,• Any color of clean, professional scrubs is acceptable; permanent staff wear Emerald Green, which travelers may match but are not required to,• First-time travelers are welcome to apply,• Candidates who have previously worked at any WVU Medicine location must have taken a 2-year break before being eligible to reapply,• Travelers may not work within the WVU system for more than one cumulative year without taking a 2-year break,• WV CARES registration is required prior to start
