Job Description Location: Syracuse, New YorkPosition Type: Locum to Perm | Physician - PathologyOverviewWe are seeking a Board Certified Anatomic Pathologist for a hospital-based pathology laboratory due to a current provider shortage. This is a locum to permanent opportunity offering consistent clinical exposure, supportive staff, and a well-equipped pathology environment.Practice Highlights• Hospital-based pathology lab with CLIA and NYS certification• No call responsibilities• Group includes 4 Pathologists, 5 Histotechnologists, 1 Pathology Assistant, and 2 Cytotechnologists• Annual volume: approximately 13,000 surgical specimens and 3,000 cytology specimens• Responsibilities include:- General Anatomic Pathology- Surgical Pathology and Cytology- Frozen section analysis- Grossing specimens and cutting frozen sections - REQUIRED• Equipment includes ThinPrep integrated imager, Avantik Cryostat, and advanced microscopy systems• EMR: EPIC / Beaker• Level III Trauma Center facilityCandidate Requirements• Board Certified in Anatomic Pathology - REQUIRED• Active New York Medical License - REQUIRED• NPDB Self-Query report (must be current at submission) - REQUIRED• Must be comfortable performing grossing and frozen section procedures - REQUIRED• Strong experience in surgical pathology and cytology - REQUIREDSchedule & Coverage• Assignment length: 3 to 6 months with potential for permanent placement• No call required• Estimated credentialing timeframe: 40-45 days• Coverage due to provider shortageWhy Syracuse, New York?Syracuse offers a great quality of life, affordable living, excellent schools, and access to outdoor recreation, making it an ideal location for both short-term and long-term practice.How to ApplyIf you are a Board Certified Pathologist with an active New York license seeking a locum to permanent opportunity in a supportive hospital setting, we encourage you to apply today.
