The Medical Lab Scientist is responsible for the collection and processing of laboratory specimens as well as the reporting of results and preparation of reports at the COLA/CLIA moderate complexity level. Duties include processing patient samples, Daily QC and Calibrations on various analyzers. Must have unrestricted US work authorization - no visa sponsorship available Key Areas of Responsibility * Perform Complex Testing: Conduct tests in various disciplines like Chemistry, Blood bank, Hematology, Microbiology, and Immunology on patient samples. Analyze & Interpret Results: Examine blood cells, identify microorganisms, check blood chemistry (glucose, electrolytes), and perform blood typing for transfusions. Ensure Quality & Accuracy: Implement quality control, calibrate instruments, validate methods, and troubleshoot issues to guarantee reliable data. Communicate Findings: Report critical results promptly to physicians and nurses, explaining the significance of the lab data. Maintain Equipment: Calibrate, maintain, and validate advanced laboratory instruments. Consult & Research: Advise healthcare providers on test selection and may design or evaluate new testing methods.
