The Center Director for the Theodora Family Hotel is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of all programs within the facility, which serve both families in the shelter program and individuals in the Grant Per Diem program. This position ensures appropriate staffing structures, supervises and trains staff, and maintains the safety of both staff and the facility. The Center Director supports program development by implementing policies, procedures, and systems that adapt to changing participant needs, assists with grant compliance and timely reporting, manages relief staff for residential programs, and represents the Theodora Family Hotel in the community to identify local needs and support collaborative initiatives. This role ensures that all programs operate efficiently, safely, and provide high-quality services to participants and families. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES * Provide overall leadership for Theodora operations and programming, ensuring alignment with agency goals. * Develop and maintain effective systems and supervisory structures to support continuous 24/7 residential operations. * Ensure participant voices inform program development and service delivery. * Delegate operational responsibilities effectively to direct, contract, and support staff to maintain smooth day-to-day functioning. * Maintain familiarity with front desk and facility operations through periodic direct coverage. * Participate in on-call rotation, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. * Recruit, hire, train, supervise, and evaluate program staff, housing case managers, interns, and volunteers. * Foster a collaborative, inclusive team environment through staff meetings, coaching, mentorship, and professional development. * Ensure staff accountability for program components, documentation, community engagement, and service delivery standards. * Provide guidance and oversight in crisis intervention, trauma-informed care, housing case management, and advocacy services. * Oversee intake, discharge, and housing placement processes; ensure high-quality case management. * Ensure guests receive safe, trauma-informed services and access to community resources and referrals. * Monitor documentation quality and compliance across all required databases. * Oversee access to nutritional services via the warming kitchen, maintain health code compliance and manage the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP). * Promote the safety, protection, and well-being of all guests. * Maintain the facility in a clean, safe, orderly, and "tour-ready" condition. * Ensure adherence to health, safety, and regulatory standards; address deficiencies promptly. * Develop, implement, and revise policies and procedures in collaboration with senior leadership; monitor staff adherence. * Monitor program revenue, expenditures, and budget compliance; take corrective action as needed. * Assist in grant preparation, submission, and monitoring; ensure timely reporting to funders. * Refine data collection systems, analyze program outcomes, and assess program effectiveness to inform continuous improvement. * Prepare and submit program data, reports, and analytics to the Metro Denver Director and Senior Director as required. * Order and manage necessary office, food, and facility supplies. * Serve as a liaison to community partners, corporate stakeholders, donors, and funding entities. * Develop and maintain partnerships with local agencies, shelters, transitional housing, and food programs. * Represent the program at community meetings, conferences, trainings, and workshops. * Collaborate with senior leadership to support Board committees and present program updates as requested. * Maintain strict confidentiality of participant, staff, and organizational information. * Perform all duties in accordance with the Social Work Code of Ethics. * Model professionalism and consistency in attendance and performance. * Perform other duties as assigned. Supervisory Responsibilities * Direct supervision of all staff Theodora Family Hotel staff. * This position may provide field supervision for college level interns. Anticipated Outcomes * Ensure the occupancy rate at shelters remains at 90% or higher. * Ensures that 50% of all households who exit, do so into a stable or permanent housing solution, and that 90% of these households engage in rehousing services. * Facilities always remain "tour ready" including all safety concerns addressed within 48 hours. * Ensure all other outcomes are met as required by the funding source and Volunteers of America Colorado. Working Conditions and Physical Requirements * Must be able to drive between programs and community meetings. * May be required to cover shifts at residential programs. * Ability to quickly and safely go up and down stairs regularly throughout the shift to do perimeter checks, and in cases of an emergency. * Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. a few times per day. * The employee may be exposed to severe weather conditions. * The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate. Position Type and Expected Hours of Work Full-time 40 hours a week working Monday through Friday, participation on the Supervisor "after hours" On-call rotation and coverage of various shifts as dictated by staffing needs. Requirements Minimum Qualifications * Bachelor of Arts degree in human services, or a closely related field or related experience. * Two years of direct experience (paid or volunteer) working with people experiencing homelessness and mental health needs. * Two years of direct experience in program design, implementation, monitoring, budgets, and reporting skills. * Two years supervisory experience. * Knowledge of community-based resources for people experiencing homelessness. * Complete program credentialing process, to include criminal and civil background checks within 30 days of hire. * Willing to obtain first aid, automated external defibrillator, and cardiopulmonary resuscitation certifications. Preferred Qualifications * Master's degree in a human service-related area or equivalent experience. * Five years of administrative experience in program management and staff supervision. * Must have experience with mental health, homelessness, case management, and residential services. * Complete program credentialing process, including criminal and civil background checks within 30 days of hire. * Willing to obtain first aid, automated external defibrillator, and cardiopulmonary resuscitation certifications. * Colorado driver's license and state-mandated automobile insurance. * Bilingual English and Spanish.
