Staff may need to float between inpatient and clinic areas. Common imaging studies performed include L2 Traumas and various MRI procedures. The average number of scans/studies performed per day is about 38. There are 7 staff in the department until 4:30 PM, and 2 staff after that. During weekends, the technologist works independently, with support from an assistant. Cerner is used for electronic medical records, and Siemens PACS is used for imaging. The lead technologist supervises during daytime shifts. IV starts are required for the position. Weekend and holiday work is part of the rotation. There is a call or standby requirement during scheduled rotations, with specific response times expected. Scrubs are provided for the position. The department may offer up to 1 week of orientation for new staff. All staff must clock in and out while performing their duties.
