Job Description

We're hiring an experienced Respiratory Therapist for a local hospital in Frankfort, KY where you will be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the treatment, care, and needs of patients with breathing disorders.Minimum Requirements: Associate or bachelor's degree from a Respiratory Therapy or Cardiopulmonary Science program.Current Kentucky state respiratory therapist license in good standing.Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential required.Minimum one year of hospital-based respiratory therapy experience.Experience with mechanical ventilators, including Hamilton C-1 and Avea ventilators preferred.BLS and ACLS certifications required.NRP preferred; if not held, employer can provide NRP training on site. (Preferred)Competence in arterial blood gas (ABG) analysis and respiratory procedures commonly performed in acute care settings.Assignment DetailsFacility type: Hospital.Unit: Respiratory Therapy supporting ED, ICU and NICU, and inpatient beds.Shift: Nights, 1900-0700.Schedule notes: Night shift staffing; staff self-schedules on a 4-week system with every other weekend required.Equipment: Use of Hamilton C-1 BiPAP, AirVOs, Avea vents and Aerogen nebulizer systems.Documentation system: Meditech (Meditec).Floating: Floating policy not applicable to this position.Location Highlights Frankfort, KY offers easy access to regional parks and a compact state capital experience. The city is adjacent to the Kentucky River and is approximately 20 miles northeast of Lexington, providing urban amenities and a 30- to 40-minute drive to the Lexington Bluegrass Airport. Frankfort provides close access to outdoor recreation at nearby Lakeview Park and Cove Spring Park, and is within a one- to two-hour drive of the Daniel Boone National Forest and the Red River Gorge for hiking and rock-climbing. The downtown area includes the Kentucky State Capitol, historic districts, and several cultural attractions within a short commute, offering a mix of quiet suburban living and convenient access to larger-city shopping and dining.Additional Information Hospital certifications include Level 3 Trauma Center, Stroke Center, Level 2 NICU, and Primary PCI accreditation.
